What if what was hidden inside was not awful. How wonderful to be able to explore what is within – that can be uncovered, discovered and welcomed. Imagine that all of it is good & wise. Travel down secret passageways to everywhere with joy and delight. You are not defined by your past and you can feel your connection to everything – that you are a part of the whole. How about that?

Be Yourself – accomplish your dreams! – sounds obvious, but not really. How often do you think, “I’m not as good as…they won’t like me…or accept me…? Then the merry-go-round of “who do I need to be to be with you? It’s exhausting. Just be yourself. Think of Mahatma Gandhi. When he was asked what he would wear if invited to visit the British Prime Minister, he replied that he would wear what he always did, his dhoti. He said that to wear a suit would be thoroughly inauthentic. Hmm. He did attend that meeting in his dhoti and we all know what he accomplished being himself.

“The Habit of Everything” – The reason I say this is because habit is pervasive and it keeps us from making mindful choices. It is about unconscious, automatic reactions to life, rather than conscious, deliberate actions based on how we define our highest self. Habit is not right/wrong; good/bad – it just is. And it can keep us stuck believing that it is “just who I am”, when actually you are infinitely variable. How much does habit rule your life? dictate your behavior under stress? limit your potential to risk, stretch and grow? Pay attention and ask yourself, is this who you want to be – or are you willing to challenge yourself to try something new?

There is so much more to who we are than our physical form. It’s sometimes difficult to remember that when our culture promotes so much attention on our outward appearance. However, paying attention to our inner selves and all the non-physical aspects within – subtle shifts and changes that we perceive when we focus on self – is the highest work we can do. Take time today to look within “with great joy” and notice your non-physical reality. By paying close attention to the life force within, we can feel more peace, more calm and understand the meaning of true beauty.

It’s a fact that we don’t recognize our Greatness enough. Instead, we are conditioned to think negatively of ourselves – see our faults, what we do wrong, why others couldn’t possibly like us. When our body aches, we immediately think something terrible is going on, rather than understand that the wisdom of healing is in progress.
Let’s change that – let’s chose to focus on greatness instead – not in a narcissistic way, but rather in a wholesome and welcoming way. After all, Creator and creation are never separate, so let’s remember to honour the beautiful creation that we are.
